Hey there! My name is Ash Mayes and this is my portfolio. This portfolio’s central focus is my commitment to exploring the intersections of writing, digital technology, and education in both my professional and personal life.
This portfolio was originally created for Penn State University’s Teaching with Technology Certificate. Thus, multimodal pedagogy with a strong emphasis on the use of digital technology in the classroom largely features in the content of the site.
In addition to my pedagogical materials and contemplations, my writing on additional themes like rhetorical theory, science fiction, social justice, food, labor, and graduate school as an institution and an experience also feature on the site. As someone whose studies and interests are largely interdisciplinary, having these themes exist together in chorus with one another is a core value guiding my work.
